Dear Beloved Community,

As this year comes to a close, we want to pause and express our heartfelt gratitude for believing in our vision and walking alongside us on this journey. Each year brings its own highs and lows, yet time and time again we are reminded that we can always count on the faithfulness of our beloved neighbors, supporters, and sponsors to help spread light and hope in the midst of the world’s darkness.

Together, we accomplished so much this year.
  • In February, we had the opportunity to amplify our work on live television with Fox 2 KTVU, where we shared the importance of Juneteenth and the ongoing work of our organization. We are grateful for the platform to uplift our mission and reach new audiences. Click here to view it!
  • In March, we honored the legacy of Harriet Tubman at our 12th Annual Phenomenal Women’s Event, in partnership with the Black Women’s Media and Wellness Project. Under the theme, She Rises Like a Phoenix: Bold, Beautiful, Powerful, and Resilient, the event featured powerful performances and meaningful community discussions that encouraged us not only to rise, but to rise together.
  • In June, our 18th Annual Oakland Juneteenth Street Festival and Celebration brought the heart of Oakland to life. With more than 200 community members, leaders, performers, and vendors in attendance, we gathered under the theme, We Are Tapping Into the Ancestors’ Wisdom and Having the Freedom to Express Ourselves. Together, we celebrated the richness of our diversity and the strength of our unity.   • And while we were unable to host our Annual Fall Women’s Retreat, we were reminded of the need to continue to create safe spaces for women, often caretakers of their communities to rest and reset. See our video here from 2023 to inspire you to join us in 2026!
